John Albert Gardner the Amber Dubois story

Tonight on 48 hours mystery is child raping murderer  John Albert Gardner.

http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/48hours/main3410.shtml

If we don't come up with a one strike law in this country for child molesters we are going to have more John Albert Gardners running around and more babies raped and killed.

John Albert Gardner said "I am the most dangerous type of sex offender, I will kill, I know I will, I am the type that needs to be locked up forever".

Sacramento - Keep a close eye on your boys

A convicted sex offender is now considered no longer a sexually violent predator in the eyes of the law.

Timothy Boggs' lawyer successfully argued for an unconditional release.

That means Boggs will no longer check-in with parole agents and will no longer wear an ankle bracelet; he will be able to travel and leave the state as he pleases.

Boggs will still be listed on California's sex offender registry.

Boggs has two convictions for molesting 9-year-old boys in the Sacramento area in the 1980s.

John Gardner, child murderer

Habitual sex offender John Albert Gardner pleaded guilty today to murdering two teenage girls in San Diego County after prosecutors agreed not to seek the death penalty.

Gardner, 31, faces life in prison without parole for killing 14-year-old Amber Dubois and 17-year-old Chelsea King.

He also pleaded guilty to attempting to rape another woman who was jogging in San Diego last year.

None of this would have ever happened if we had a One Strike Law.

Chelsea King

Another solid case for ONE STRIKE LAW

John Albert Gardner III received a very light sentence in 2000 after prosecutors ignored a a psychiatrist’s warning and suggestion of a stronger sentence.  Prosecutors noted John Gardner’s lack of criminal history, and tossed in the standard “wanted to spare the victim the trauma of testifying” card when seeking the five year prison term for the sexual assault of a 13 year old girl.

Chelsea King, 17, beloved daughter, honor student, athlete, friend to all, has gone missing and John Gardner is behind bars. He is being charged with her rape and murder.

But now Amber Dubois, who disappeared last year on her way to school, was identified through dental records after police found her remains Saturday in rugged terrain near Pala. Police had refocused attention on the Dubois case after Gardner was arrested last week in connection with the murder of Chelsea King, a high school senior from nearby Poway.

Another woman has identified Gardner as the man who tried to attack her Dec. 27, 2009 while she was jogging in the same general vicinity where both Chelsea and Amber vanished. The woman in that attack managed to escape.

John Albert Gardner III, lived a couple of miles from where Dubois vanished near Escondido High School.

Manhunt For Balboa Park Child Molester

San Diego Police Child Abuse detectives are investigating the molestation of a four-year-old girl that occurred in Balboa Park on Sunday, January 25, 2009.

At about 3:00 p.m., the victim became separated from her parents and older brother while playing hide-and-seek. The victim's parents and friend started searching for the girl and contacted San Diego Fire Department personnel who were at the park. Numerous police officers and Park Rangers began searching for the missing girl.

The girl stated the suspect walked up to her near the Natural History Museum and said he would take the victim to the victim's mother. The suspect, who is described as a White male, 55, 5 foot 10 inches tall, 180 pounds, white hair, was wearing eyeglasses, a green windbreaker, tan pants, and hat, instead walked the victim to his vehicle. The molestation took place inside the suspect's vehicle. The vehicle was parked in a lot adjacent to either the Natural History Museum or Spanish Village. At this time detectives do not have a description of the suspect's vehicle.

The female victim was then released by the suspect and was not injured. The victim was located about forty-five minutes after she was initially reported missing near the Spanish Village area. A short time later, the victim disclosed she was molested.

Child molester killed himself

Good news of the day!

A 74-year-old Redlands man who committed suicide Wednesday evening was identified Thursday as a convicted child molester who failed to appear for his sentencing last week.

Redlands police had gone to a hotel room to serve an arrest warrant charging Walter Ward Davis with failing to appear in San Bernardino County Superior Court on July 30, police spokesman Carl Baker said.

"Before the officer even had a chance to knock on the door, he heard a shot and the sound of a body hitting the floor," Baker said.

A revolver was found beneath the man's body shortly after the 5:50 p.m. shooting at the Sunrise Motel, in the 1400 block of West Redlands Boulevard.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner's office later identified him as Davis.

Davis pleaded guilty July 2 to felony charges of sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14, according to court records.

88 years plus 500 years to life

Now thats justice!

A jury convicted Vargas last month for repeatedly molesting a young girl who saw him as a father-figure. The sexual abuse started in 2005 when she was just eight years old and continued until 2007 when a sheriff's deputy caught them together in a car. In court on Thursday, a victim's advocate read a letter from the girl's mother.

It said, "He robbed her innocence, her childhood, and the trauma that she will take during her whole life. He destroyed her life, and after she testified, she remains traumatized."

Deputy District Attorney David Sandhaus says that's why Vargas deserved the stiffest possible penalty.

David Sandhaus: "By sentencing this defendant to 588 years in prison, it guarantees this specific person will never molest a child again and hopefully other people who might contemplate such an action will think twice before they do it."

Child molester killed in Salinas state prison

One way to stop a child molester:

A 30-year-old child molester is dead after being killed at Salinas Valley State Prison in Soledad.

Lt. Eric Moore of the prison said Donald Jones was assaulted by a group of prisoners Friday morning in the general population maximum-security yard.

I'm really glad to see California not wasting more tax payer money by giving child molesters special treatment in prison. Why should they be protected from the general population?

He was pronounced dead about 90 minutes later. Prison officers recovered a stabbing weapon at the scene.

Jones had been in the facility since 1995, serving a 20-year sentence out of Los Angeles County for sodomy on a child under 14.

Authorities said six men are suspected in Jones' death. They already are serving sentences for convictions that include second-degree murder, voluntary manslaughter and kidnapping.

Really, what did they have to loose?
